Rush Limbaugh- Political Activist or Political Asshole?

Rush Limbaugh has a show on the radio where he makes fun of any political decisions or politicians that he doesn't like. He recently made fun of a woman who spoke in front of Congress about the necesity of free birth control for women.  Limbaugh then went on to say that asking for free birth control is asking to be paid for sex, ultimately, calling her a prostitute.  He said the only way that this could be verified would be for her to video tape her sexual encounters and put them online.  He was greatly criticized for this awful comment. 


Limbaugh is notorious for his harsh words.  However, many think that this time he went to far.  He has already lost some advertisers such as AOL because they do not agree with the with his beliefs.


I believe that Limbaugh is a journalist, one of the many who often speak their minds with no filter. Limbaugh was just doing his job and living up to his reputation of speaking his mind.  Were his words perhaps overly harsh? Yes. But he wouldn't be good at what he does without speaking his mind.  I am not justifying what he has said, but everyone knows how he is.
